William E Massey

August 4, 1940 ~ May 30, 2020 (age 79)


William E. Massey, 79, of Russellville, AR, formerly of Liberal, KS was granted eternal rest Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Waters of Fort Smith in Fort Smith, AR.  The son of Wilber Homer Massey and Ivy Lorene (Merrick) Massey, he was born August 4, 1940 in Hugo, OK.  He was the owner and operator of Alamo-Massey Plumbing, Heating, & Air based in Liberal, KS for over 48 years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, swimming, a good joke, and especially spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.  He will be remembered as a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Granny and Pa Fouse; and his parents.

Survivors include Rheawanda Massey of Dardanelle; two daughters, Cindy King and husband, Allen of Broken Arrow, OK, Viva Halford and husband, Richard of Russellville; son, John Masssey and wife Gina of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Mandy Brungardt and husband, Andy of Bixby, OK, Justin Powell and wife, Bethany of Dardanelle, Jennifer Goforth and husband, Billy of Amarillo, TX, Chelsey Ivy and husband A.J. of Amarillo, TX, and Robert King of Broken Arrow, OK; great-grandchildren, Katy, Lucas, and Abigail; siblings, Jimmy Dale Merrick, George Jerry Merrick, and Mary Carol Christianson; and numerous extended family.

Mr. Massey will be laid to rest on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Ochiltree County Cemetery in Perryton, TX by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 3115 S Mobile Ave, Russellville, AR 72802 or Akdar Shrine, 2808 S Sheridan Rd, Tulsa, OK 74129.
